Around July 26th, the government released the June Housing Report. CNBC ran the headline “Housing boom is over as new home sales fall to pandemic low” (https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/26/housing-boom-is-over-as-new-home-sales-fall-to-pandemic-low.html) for their analysis. The gist of it: People in the lower and middle price section of the housing market can no longer afford the homes they want. Note the reports indicate the high-end market is currently holding up. In essence, Demand is falling due to price increases. Let’s ‘reverb’ this back through the economy.
